Bucklin military noteables (They all gave noteable service.)

This section of our website is hopefully going to be expanded when we receive a contribution of a few hundred dollars.  We have the information, but no money or volunteers to put it into electronic format and get it on the website.

Bucklin family members have always shown traits of courage, zeal, faith, duty, and honor.   There are many notable examples of military service, starting with Benjamin Bucklin, the 17th century son of William Bucklin.  Benjamin was elected a town trooper,. He was slain at the start of an early Indian war when he and nine other men were engaged in an expedition to protect the colony.  A monument to those nine men is in Rhode Island.

Revolutionary War military.  Here is a partial list for those seeking membership in the Sons, or Daughters, of the American Revolution.

Albigence Waldo, a Bucklin brother in law, was Surgeon General of the Revolutionary Army of General George Washington.

Civil War military.  Here is the fascinating history of that terrible rending of men and country.  Bucklins include many with medals, including a Medal of Honor awardee.

20th and 21st century military.  To the present day, Bucklins have served with honor, courage, and devotion to preserving the American way of life that we cherish.
