Douglas J. Bucklin, former Utah attorney, now in Pennsylvania, specializing in Intellectual Property Law,  has the distinction of holding four (4) academic degrees including both a doctor's degree in biochemistry and also a JD degree.  If you want to find out about the law involved with "Chemical Cleavage as a Probe of Ribosomal Structure" he is your man.  Seriously, he specializes in providing and protecting patents in the biochemical, pharmaceutical, and medical fields.

Leonard Bucklin, a Texas lawyer, was a national director of the United Network for Organ Transfers, and for more than a dozen years was a member of their Ethics Committee. The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is the federal contractor that operates the national Oran Procurement for Transplants Network (OPTN) which provides the system of allocation of organs for life-saving transplants. The UNOS Board of Directors establishes uniform policies to govern organ procurement, distribution and transplantation for the United States through several hundred organizations, and audits their performance. He is the author of more than 20 books and Journal articles for lawyers, including the three volume set of Civil Practice of North Dakota and the three volume set of Building Trial Notebooks , a system of managing a case through litigation.  See his website at www.bucklin.org

Donald T. Bucklin, a well known attorney in Washington, D.C., is a partner in Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. on Pennsylvania Avenue.   The Squire firm is a premier law firm in the United States.  He was the Recipient, Justin Simon Award for Excellence in Teaching Trial Advocacy, Georgetown University Law Center, in 2002. He is most known by the press because of his involvement as  Assistant U.S. Attorney, 1968-1971 and as Independent Counsel Pursuant to Ethics in Government Act (under seal), 1991-1992; Senior Counsel, U.S. Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs, Special Investigation into Campaign Fundraising Practices, 1997.  He is also noted by lawyers as having served as Treasurer and on the Board of Governors of the District of Columbia Bar and being president of the  Bar Association of the District of Columbia.

Mark R. Bucklin, is at the other end of the country, at the other "Washington", where he is President & Managing Shareholder, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Keating, Bucklin & McCormack, Inc., P.S. Seattle, Washington (King Co.).  He is another one of the Phi Betta Kappa Bucklins, and was designated a civil litigation "Super Lawyer" by peer poll in Washington Law and Politics Magazine (1999, 2000 and 2001).
