Bucklins often meet at the parade in Pawtuxet (near
Providence) when Rhode Island celebrates history with Gaspee Days, a two day Revolutionary War celebration in June!
Rhode Island recognizes the shot by Joseph Bucklin as the "First
Shot in the Revolution". Be proud, have fun, and join the
events!

The Gaspee Parade
on Saturday
Each year - on
the second Saturday in June.
Get ready - make plans - Now! - for Pawtuxet, RI (Providence area)
Colonial fife & drum corps, and much more! The
Philadelphia
Mummers usually are the grand finale unit. Following the parade there is a
Colonial Muster, in which selected units compete in colonial music or drill.
The parade honors anyone whose ancestors were in the
Gaspee raiders, so you may gets- to sit on the reviewing stand if you tell us
you are coming!
If
you are a Bucklin, here is how you may meet other Bucklins as the parade.
Go to the Parade Reviewing Stand before the parade --- you may see a Bucklin
Society Flag (see picture on the right) or someone wearing clothing with the
Bucklin Society logo. Likewise at the Muster after the parade you may see a
Bucklin Society Flag or see someone wearing Bucklin
Society logo clothing. (The Muster is held at Pawtuxet Park, a couple of blocks from the
Parade Reviewing Stand. )

On Sunday in Pawtuxet -- Colonial Battle Maneuvers & Uniform Fashion
Show Revolutionary War
era uniform fashion show, with enactors explaining how the soldiers lived and
worked.
Take the opportunity to view the many Bucklin family sites in Rhode Island.
Spend Friday or other spare time touring various sites of
interest involving the Bucklin Family's pre-Revolutionary era history in nearby
Providence and Pawtucket . Visit the area of
William Bucklin's original 600 acres, including Bucklin Landing and Bucklin
Island, the Newman Burial Ground and the North Burial Ground. Have lunch at
the Bucklin Arcade, an important architectural feat of early Rhode Island. Contact us and we will
