George Whipple III is a descendent of Commodore Whipple.  The Commodore was one of the eight ship captains chosen by Joseph Brown to each command one of the eight long boats attacking the Gaspee.  Whipple was in charge of the fleet of longboats.

 

George Whipple III has his own show on television station NY! ,  For two years he has appeared at the Gaspee Days parade, portraying his ancestor.
