ONE WINE - UNIQUE

14 acres.  Never to be duplicated in our lifetimes.  Each vine cared for with concern for their ancient age and survival in a field over 150 years old.

A zinfandel wine with complex notes added by 25 other varieties of grapes. Each individual  vine of this historical vineyard has been mapped separately. (See left, where each square identifies one individual vine.)

Zinfandel vines power this wine  (the dark green squares), but also exotic ancient varieties such as Grand Noir, Lenoir, Tannat, Bastardo, Palomino and  Chasselas (the oldest variety cultivated) add their notes to this unique field blend. (And note the light blue squares in the map - marking a type of vine with clearly different features making it easy for experts to say what it is not, but researchers still are not able to identified the variety with any confidence.)

Dry farmed.  Roots reaching deep underground to find water.  Producing only a few grapes per vine, each with powerful concentrated flavor.

Harvested separately according to maturity, not according to economics, but with all the many varieties masterfully placed into one field blend before bottling.

Predominantly Zinfandel. but with layers of flavor. Remarkably complex and powerful!
